Android 1.0 Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This policy applies only to the free Shrimp Farm Android 1.0 app distributed through Google Play. The public website and separate web app are covered by the all-services policy.
What the Android app sends to Shrimp Farm
Nothing. This version has no internet permission and contains no analytics, advertising, remote crash reporting, feedback upload, account, cloud synchronization or other developer-operated data transport.
Data stored on your device
The app stores farms, up to three ponds, cycles, operational logs, costs, animal-health records, deterministic metrics, settings and pond images in app-private storage. A bounded diagnostic buffer exists only in process memory and is not uploaded or persisted by the app. Shrimp Farm cannot access or recover the stored data.
Photos and camera permission
Camera access is requested only after you choose Take photo. You may deny it and continue using the rest of the app. Choosing an existing image uses Android's system photo picker, so the app does not request broad library or storage access. Imported images are processed locally; embedded EXIF metadata, including location, is removed from the private app copy. The app does not collect device location.
Exports and manual backups
When you explicitly create a CSV report or a versioned ZIP backup, Android lets you choose a destination or share target. The ZIP is not encrypted. Once you transfer a file to another app, cloud drive, email provider or storage location, that recipient's privacy and security practices apply. Shrimp Farm does not receive a copy.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Soft-deleted operational records may remain inside the local database and manual backups to preserve history and data integrity. Pond-image files can be deleted from the image log. A backup stored outside the app must be deleted from that destination separately.
Security, children and changes
Android app-private storage limits access by other apps under normal platform protections. Device security and any exported files remain your responsibility. The app is a business record-keeping tool and is not directed to children. If a future Android version adds network collection or new sensitive permissions, its code, Play Data Safety declaration and this policy will be updated before release.
